Vince co-teaches his latest course, Champions, with Dr. Daniel Kelly. The course focuses on the intersection of leadership and sports. The course builds on unique interviews featuring Jonathan Tisch, Co-owner of the NY Giants and Chairman & CEO of Loews Hotels & Co., and includes such prominent and accomplished leaders as Eli and Peyton Manning, Alex Rodriguez, Magic Johnson, and Abby Wambach, among others.
As the head of the Preston Robert Tisch Institute for Global Sport at NYU, Vince is leading the academic unit towards the goal of being the global leader in sports business education. He is reconceptualizing his academic unit to be more than a collection of high-quality degree programs. Instead, he views the faculty and administrative team as content creators and curators, who possess a deep understanding of the global sport ecosystem, which includes an informed sense of anticipation as to where the industry is heading.
He views these insights to be of great value to today’s sports leaders, as well as those seeking career advancement and development. Therefore, Executive Education programs, Certificate programs in areas such as sports analytics and sports technology and innovation are focus areas for the Tisch Institute. Even illuminating career opportunities in sports business and non-profits, to high school students who are weighing career options is another area of focus for the Tisch Institute.
In Vince’s first three years at NYU, the previously unranked Tisch Institute’s Masters in Sports Business degree program ascended in the global rankings to become a top 20 program (out of approximately 400 graduate programs globally). Based in the capital of the sports world in New York City and with the NYU global footprint—global centers in 15 locations around the world—the Tisch Institute is poised for continued success. A highly-talented faculty and dedicated administrators are committed to making the Tisch Institute the global leader in sports business education.
